2010 in Review

2010 in Review

As I look back over the past year of 2010, I am totally amazed at all that the Lord has done in my life and for other people because we were obedient unto the Lord. Totally over whelmed of all the Love and Support that we have been given while we are preaching and teaching the Word of God.

Here is my "Year in Review"

January started out with lots of snow and lots of service cancellations. We found that the weather had become a issue so we came up with the idea of only having one (1) service on Sundays and that service would begin at noon and there would be no morning or evening services. We were blessed to see souls saved (4) in January.

Our youth were blessed to go to their (BPC) first Accelerant in Gatlinburg, TN. We took a total of 17 people and had a wonderful time. We attended Christian Concerts and lots of Word being preached. During the Saturday Evening service 4 of our young people went up and got saved, renewed and rededicated their lives to the Lord. What an amazing weekend this turned out to be. Our Young People came back to Beckley, WV on fire for the Lord and caused a Revival among the other Youth in the church. Praise God!

February started out great as we started our Annual "Winter Revival" from the 1st through the 10th; crowds were great starting out and then BAM, the snow began to fall again. Let me just say this, what the devil means for bad, God turns it around for the good. We were blessed to see three (3) people rededicate their life back to the Lord the first week of Winter Revival. Brother Steve Board preached some timely messages during the first week of Revival. Due to the amount of snow fell, the second week of Winter Camp Meeting was cancelled out.

Sister Sally and I were blessed to be able to attend the "Minister's Summit" in Pigeon Forge, TN and my what a blessed time it was. We were able to meet up with some pastors and be able to just sit and talk. How refreshing was that.

Came back from the Summit and preached under such an anointing and during the Sunday Morning Service one person said she (CH) was healed of the pain that she had been feeling in her body. Three (3) people saved in the month of February.

March came in like it always does and we were able to have with us Missionaries from England, Robert and Michelle Crigger. As they shared with us what God was doing in the London and all over England, the Lord began to deal with me about supporting more missionaries.

Attended the Great Commission Meals with all the other local churches in the Central WV District and had a great time. We were blessed as a church to receive 7 Star Award for our Giving to Missions.

We were blessed to be able to participate in a Revival at the Sky Baptist Church in Beckley, WV were the pastor is William Fruit. This was a great revival. We also preached and spoke at a TEEN CENTER in Princeton, WV and hosted a Men's Resurrection Breakfast with Pastor Phil Farrington came and preached a timely message.

In the month of March we were blessed to experience 9 souls saved, renewed or rededicated unto the Lord. Praise God!

April came in a running. We were preaching under such a great anointing that I could not explain or tell what was happening with me. The first Sunday in April that we preached we seen 5 souls saved/reclaimed and then on April 5th, Raleigh County, West Virginia received some bad news around the 4pm time frame. There was a massive explosion at a Massey Mines and then at or about 5 pm, we realized that my Uncle Kenny was one of the miners that was in the mines at the time of the explosion. We called a Prayer Vigil at the Church at or about 6:30pm. Several came out for a time of prayer for our families and coal miners in this tradgic accident.

The Pastors Anniversary weekend that was planned was cancelled due to the events that was taking place in the County of Raleigh.

On April 11th, the Beckley Praise Church celebrated our Homecoming with Special Guest Speaker Brother Preston Mathena and then a dinner afterwards. This was a great day but still there was a shadow hanging over the services of people thinking about the miners who were still trapped in the mines.

We were blessed to preach at a dear friends church on that Sunday Evening, Sycamore FP Church were the pastor is Jerry Tyree. On that following Saturday afternoon, we were blessed to be able to preach at a Youth Senate at the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. This was a great time in the Lord and was truly blessed to see young people working for the Lord. Then on the 24th, we were blessed to be able to speak on a friends local radio broadcast.

Total Saved in April was five (5). Praise the Lord!

May was just like April when it came time for me to preach messages. The anointing was so strong and so prevalent on me that the messages were powerful.

On the first Thursday in May, BPC hosted the Annual National Day of Prayer Gospel Sing and my what a wonderful time we had. There were 23 churches represented and 85 people represented at the sing.

Also participated in a 3 Day Youth Revival at the Mount Olive Missioanry Baptist Church. My what a blessing this was to be a part of.

And then at the end of the month we were blessed to be able to attend our Family Reunion where I performed a Marriage Renewal for my oldes Brother Mark and his wife Mary.

June was started out by going straight into a revival at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with the great Pastor, Charles Brown. The Revival was a blessing to those who attended and they were filled.

Our Sunday School Department hosted our Annual SS Picnic at the Granview State Park where we were rained out. We came back to the church, where the weather was beautiful and we had a great time in the Lord there.

We particpated again in the Community Gospel Nights in Sophia, WV and also participated in Ladies Night at the Sky Baptist Church at the 7pm hour. We preached under such an anointing that I cant explain.

June we were blessed to see three (3) saved.

July came with souls beign saved in the first couple of services and our Teens were participating in a program at the Linda Kay Epling Baseball Field.

My family and I went on vacation during this month.

In July we were blessed to see Eight (8) saved and Seven (7) Baptized.

August was another month of blessings and favor from the Lord. In this month we were blessed to see five (5) saved. Praise the Lord.

September is what we would consider Training month and we were blessed to be able to participate in the Discipleship Ministries Fall Day of Training in Dublin, Virginia. Then on Sunday the 12th, we took some youth and attended Youth Day at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bluefield, WV.

We preached for Pastor Gary Hosey at the Mattsville Community Church on a Friday Night Fellowship service. What a blessing that was.

BPC hosted its first Youth Day on Saturday the 18th; and oh my what a wonderful time we had. Our youth experienced a day of learning the proper way of taking care of themselves and also how to properly have dinner at a formal setting. The dinner was catered.

On the 3rd week in September, we preached a Revival at one of our Sister Churches; Shady Spring PHC. These services was great and the power of the Lord was real.

On the 4th week in September, BPC hosted their Annual Fall Fellowship Revival with various speakers each night. All the ministers came and ministered unto the Church in such an amazing way.

October came and the youth came with it. October immediately because Youth Month; we were blessed to host "Youth Day" with the Karen Spurlock band on the 10th, Sunday morning service and my what a wonderful time we had. The band came and played amazing and not just the youth had a good time but the entire church was blessed. Our youth, Forgiven, drama team came and did a wonderful job.

Then on Friday the 15th of October, we hosted a Youth Rally at a local Camp. Karen Spurlock Bank, JFraz and Steve O came and performed along with Forgiven. We had a wonderful time in getting to know our youth and being able to support them more with the Word of God.

Then on the 23rd of October, I was blessed to be able to go and preach at Living Waters Worship Center in St. Albans, WV where Mike Martin is the pastor.

November and December came and all the services was such a blessing to me as the pastor. The Presence of God was real, was relevant and was personal in everyone's life who allowed Him to move. The Babe came but did not stay as a babe.....He is our Savior.

Well, there you have it......my year in review of BPC and our ministry schedule. I am looking forward to doing more in 2011 and if you want us to come and minister in your church, email me at: bpcseniorpastor@yahoo.com and we will come and be with you in your service.
